International Compost Awareness Week - Poster

For the finished poster, I decided to go with the simple leaf design, but add a blue background to evoke the idea of water. I tried to make the leaves seem a bit as though they're dissolving, as a way to suggest the idea of them being composted or dissolving into the water.

International Compost Awareness Week - Sketches

ICAW Poster Contest

This project is for the International Compost Awareness Week poster contest, with the theme "Compost! The Soil and Water Connection." The due date for the contest is November 14th.

I've sketched out a few ideas for it, but am still undecided about which one I'm going to choose. I might continue to sketch out more ideas. I like the idea of including some variation of the recycling symbol, as composting is essentially recycling food waste.

I plan to use primarily Adobe Illustrator and/or Photoshop for this project.

Web Design: Final Mockups

Since the preliminary sketches, I chose to change the color theme from a basic black & white to something with a little blue. Beyond that, the design remains essentially the same as it was in the preliminary sketches, with only minor differences. Each page would be able to scroll down as needed, when there are more images to view. And each image would be clickable, opening up a new page with the full-size image and possibly a description of the project. The logos and text on the contact page would be clickable links as well.
